Galle

This is my first antique glass that my boyfriend gives me on the anniversary.
According to the Sotheby’s auction catalog,

A Fine Galle Fire-Polished and Wheel-Carved Cameo Glass Spider Web Vase, circa 1900
The rounded teardrop-form vessel with everted lip in clear glass overlaid with deep ruby red and cut with a radiating spider web into which serrated multiple leaves have blown, the leaves finely wheel carved and heightened in turquoise and purple iridescence, the whole fire-polished.

At that time, I didn’t know whether it had a great worth in it.
But I just fell under the spell of the beauty.
After that, I heard it made 100 years or more ago.
I thought it was amazing!
Because I had feeling that it had both glass worker made circa 19 century and it was completely protected from various threats such as wars.
