Achieving Your Childhood Dreams

Today I watched this YouTube.
When I finished watching it, I felt as if I watched full movie in my room.
It was very touching, moving and thought-provoking lecture.

Randy Pausch is a computer science professor.
He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
He had an operation but cancer wasn't removed.
Doctor told him he had 3-6 months to live.
They had nothing to do about his cancer.
And he did this last lecture.

The title was "Achieving Your Childhood Dreams".
I recalled Steve Jobs's speech at Stanford Univ.
Jobs said "if today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?"
Randy was living his life and he thought how he was able to achieve his goal on his life.
He said "I’m dying and I’m having fun. And I’m going to keep having fun every day I have left. Because there’s no other way to play it."

I want to watch this video again and again.
Because I couldn't understand clearly.
But I understood his final achievement that's means he loves his family very much.

He past away at the age of 47 on July 25th 2008.
Doctor said he had only 3-6 months but he was able to live on beyond 10 months.
I guessed he was to keep having fun and he was able to achieve his ultimate dreams.

In Japan, this week is OBON.
We believe that ancestral spirits return to our families during the OBON period.
My father past away of cancer when he was 47 years old.
If I met my father, I want to hear whether he had a fun in his life and he was able to achieve his dream.

I am going to go to tomb this Friday.
